Dose of Encouragement

Music is powerful. It comforts. It uplifts our spirits. It helps us worship. Here are just several songs that spoke encouragement and truth into my life this past week. I hope they can do the same for you.

1. You’re Gonna Be Ok – Brian & Jenn Johnson

“Just follow the light in the darkness / You’re gonna be okay / And when the night is closing in / Don’t give up and don’t give in / This won’t last, it’s not the end / You’re gonna be okay”

2. Broken Prayers – Riley Clemmons

“But you’re not afraid of all the things I feel / So why am I afraid of being real / You want my tears, every messy word / Every scar and every fear… You meet me there/ ‘Cause you see the beauty / In my broken prayers / In my broken prayers”

3. Take Courage – Kristene DiMarco

“Do not forget / His great faithfulness / He’ll finish all He’s begun / So take courage, my heart / Stay steadfast my soul, He’s in the waiting”

4. He Still Does (Miracles) – Hawk Nelson

“With every option exhausted / You’ve tried everything you know / You saw a light, then you lost it / But there is still hope / Even if you don’t see it now / Without a doubt, He’s already moving / There is not a pain that you hold / He doesn’t know, and He isn’t using”

5. Enemy, Love – John Mark McMillian

“I’m willing but I’m weak / So come and talk to me / I don’t want to be / Want to be / Want to be / Want to be / Your enemy love”

6. Worn – Tenth Avenue North (… an oldie, but a goodie)

” And I know that you can give me rest / So I cry out with all I have left / Let me see redemption win / let me know the struggle ends / That you can mend a heart that’s frail and torn”

7. Impossible Things – Chris Tomlin (ft. Danny Gokey)

” Our God is with us, we will fear no evil / ‘Cause you do impossible things / Yeah You do the impossible  / One word and the walls start falling / One word and the blind will see”
